WHY!?!:
Before I was a teacher, I was in sales and finance. I worked long hours and got paid well for my productivity. As one might expect, there is usually a direct correlation between income and hours spent working. At any given moment the only thing you could find me doing was looking for my next opportunity. How can I make a deal right now?! I could have easily explained “why.” $$
Then I became a teacher. It was obvious that I needed a new “why.” It would probably be misunderstood if I said my “why” is my drive or my hustle or that I’m always looking for the next opportunity. Something I know about myself is that my “why” is something that I have to chase. It’s something that isn’t always there. It’s something I have to actively seek. So, in a way, my hustle is my “why.”
My “why” is finding the next opportunity, the next moment, the next right now. You can’t teach someone in the past or future. You can only teach in the now, one moment at a time. I’m here to be present in the present. I’m here to actively seek out opportunities. I believe that I am here for all the “whys” that I can find on any given day. I need to “keep moving with my eyes open and my head on a swivel.”
